Woodcreek Residents,

We want to remind everyone that we are still under drought restrictions. Please take note of the following important information from Aqua Texas:

● Water Usage Limit: Aqua Texas customers in the City of Woodcreek are limited to 8,500 gallons of water per month. This is considered an excessive use limit, meaning anything over this amount is deemed excessive.

Hays County has provided 70 large bottles of drinking water for Woodcreek residents. This water is now available in the City Hall parking lot on the trailer and in the back of the city's mule. Hays County delivered the water to the Dripping Springs E.O.C. and the director drove it to Veteran's Park where the city manager loaded it onto the trailer and mule.

Please take only the water that you absolutely require for your household since the supply is very limited.

We are happy to report the pressure in the water system is being restored. We are not out of the woods yet, however, and ask that you still be modest with your water use. We should be largely in the clear to flush toilets, but please try to steer clear of loads of laundry, dishes, showers, and dripping your faucets. Also, If you do indulge in a shower, we ask that you consider capturing that water in the bathtub if that is an option. As the pipes thaw, there is a high likelihood of us discovering breaks, which may reduce access to water.

Apparently social media postings this evening have confused City of Woodcreek residents about the status of the boil water notice.  The City of Woodcreek is within Woodcreek Phase 1 of the Aqua Texas system and continues to be under a boil water notice tonight.

Aqua Texas will notify residents of Phase 1 Woodcreek directly once the boil water notice is lifted, if you have signed up with the Aqua Texas notification system.

We are working hard on updating our website to provide you with more information and access to your beautiful city. Registration deadline for Brush Pick-Up is:  Wednesday, February 21st by 4:00PM

A new Woodcreek committee is being formed, the Hotel Occupancy Tax (HOT) Committee.  This committee will advise the City Council on initiating and administration of the proposed HOT, including aspects of collecting and spending the funds received.  The committee will meet monthly or as needed to provide timely and thorough recommendations to the council.  The committee will consist of 7 people and applications are being accepted.   

Aqua Texas is the water provider for the City of Woodcreek.

In January 2023, we received the notification that the City had entered "STAGE 4" Water Restrictions.

Please read the letter under "Supporting Documents" to see how Stage 4 restrictions affect you.

The second annual Arbor Day Event will be held at the Triangle (intersection of Brookhollow Drive and Woodcreek Drive).
More details to come as the Tree Board finalizes plans.

Brush Pick-Up Day was Jan. 25, 2021.  The form and rules for brush pick-up are below.

The City of Woodcreek, with Waste Connections, will have a bulk item disposal on Sat. July 17th from 8AM - 11AM at the City Hall parking lot at 41 Champions Circle.  This is for Woodcreek residents only.  Preregistration is not required.  Note that no early or late items will be accepted.  

Acceptable items for disposal are: stoves, refrigerators and freezers with CFCs removed by a licensed technician, bicycles, furniture, rugs, mattresses, grills with propane tanks removed, microwaves, ...

The meeting began with recognition of City Secretary Linda Land for exemplary service. A gift was presented to honor her contributions. A standing ovation proceeded to thank her and show appreciation for her honorable dedication to the City.

We will miss you Linda and we are so grateful for the time you spent working for The City of Woodcreek!

Consent Agenda:

After renting office space since the City incorporation in 1984, a 1,380 square-foot "hill-country-style" City Hall was built in 2004. The City received a $24,000 LCRA community grant toward construction of the council/community room. Art by Woodcreek residents is displayed on a rotating basis at City Hall.

City Hall will be closed so that City Staff can attend the City Council Retreat at CYJ.  This is an ALL DAY Event.

What is an Ordinance?

An ordinance is defined as “a local law of a municipal corporation, duly enacted by the proper authorities, prescribing general, uniform, and permanent rules of conduct relating the corporate affairs of the municipality.” [BLACK’S LAW DICTIONARY 1097 (6th ed. 1990)] In other words, an ordinance is the equivalent of a municipal statute, passed by the city council, governing matters not already covered by federal or state law.

The City of Woodcreek Tree Board is hosting the first annual tree giveaway for Woodcreek citizens on Nov 9, from 9-11am at Augusta Park in Woodcreek.  A tree dedication with a planting demonstration will also be held. Citizens who have reserved trees or on the wait list are encouraged to claim their trees early and join the tree loving community. If the trees are not claimed at the end of the event, they will be offered to other citizens (first come, first served).. Join us for a morning of fun and learning and yummy coffee and donuts!

A Resolution is a formal expression of opinion or intention made by the City Council.  It is usually temporary or advisory in nature, and can also be used to handle administrative business.

A Proclamation is an official declaration issued by the City Council to make something known - a public and official announcement.

The city has been informed by Bob Flocke that water will be available at VFW Post 6441, 401 Jacobs Well Road on Sunday, Feb. 21, 2021 from 10 AM to 6 PM.  The post has a state-inspected well. He notes that some containers are available at the post, but they ask that as many people as possible bring their own containers.  There is no charge for the water.

Before last week's winter storm, the city provided emergency preparation information on the News section of the city website and sent an email blast with the information to residents.  The News item may be found under the title Winter Weather Advisory - Feb. 12, 2021.

PEC, along with other utilities across Texas, are experiencing service interruptions due to peak demand on the statewide electric grid.

The city of Woodcreek has been informed, during this unprecedented winter weather, ERCOT and the PUC has instituted rolling blackouts to reduce the usage on the electrical grid. PEC customers will experience planned service interruptions.  The rolling blackouts will continue until the electrical grid is stable. Please take the necessary steps to reduce the demand on the electrical system by:

• The City of Woodcreek encompasses the area around the original 18-hole golf course, Camp Young Judaea and Brookmeadow to the north, Canyon Creek to the south, the Oak Orchard Enclave to the east, and includes the Villas of Cypress Creek development south of Cypress Creek at Ranch Road 12.
• The City does not extend beyond the low-water crossing by Cypress Point.

We attribute the low numbers in Woodcreek to your compassionate compliance and willingness to Stay In And Stay Safe this past year.

There will be a neighborhood meeting at City Hall at 5:30PM.  This meeting is for the City and City Engineers to gather input regarding the flooding issues on Westwood at Brookhollow Dr.   The input will be used to help create a proposal for a drainage project. 

Members of City Council and Staff may be in attendance at a training for Fund View Accounting.

The Woodcreek City Council has directed Staff to reach out to the citizens of Woodcreek for feedback in creating a Disaster Financial Relief Program. This program would assist residents who have not been able to clean up debris due to last month’s ice storm damage.  The funds would be used to help Woodcreek residents with debris removal and cleanup. Only expenses incurred after the creation of the program would be eligible.

The Ordinance Review Committee (ORC) is an independent body that advises the City Council on amending, creating, and rescinding ordinances.  The ORC consists of 7 members: 5 regular members and 2 alternate members.  Each Councilmember nominates 1 regular member to the ORC while the Mayor nominates 2 alternate members.  

The terms of each ORC member is concurrent with the term of the Councilmember who nominated them. 

The ORC shall meet at least once a month but as often as necessary to accomplish the task at hand.

The Planning and Zoning Commission has scheduled two (2) Public Hearings that will be held during their Regular Meeting, scheduled on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at 5:00PM, regarding the consideration of a possible increase of Minimum Lot Sizes and the adoption of an Ordinance regulating Short-Term Rentals.  We highly encourage all residents who are able, to attend this meeting and voice any concerns regarding these topics.  Below is the verbiage that was placed in the Wimberley View Newspaper.

The City of Woodcreek seeks an experienced and highly rated company to perform basic land maintenance tasks, small construction projects, and other site and sign work.

The City of Woodcreek regrets to announce the resignation of City Manager Brenton Lewis effective June 24, 2022.  Mr. Lewis has held the position of City Manager for the past six-and-a-half years.  Mr. Lewis tendered his resignation to Mayor Jeff Rasco before the June 8th City Council meeting and the council will vote on accepting his resignation and planning for a replacement at a special meeting on June 16, 2022 at 2 PM at City Hall.

Sealed bids are invited for the City of Woodcreek Residential Street Mill & Overlay, defined in the Contract Documents. The Project is generally described as a Mill and Overlay of thirty-one (31) residential streets:

Woodcreek is accepting RFQ for a part time City Engineer.  Applications are accepted until Sept. 23rd, 12:00 P.M. local time.
