The City of Woodcreek Hires Pegasus Planning and Development to Prepare the City’s First Comprehensive Plan

October 16, 2020 – The City of Woodcreek is a lively community located in the midst of the Texas Hill Country, home to nearly 2,000 residents.  Due to Hays County’s 45 percent population increase from 2010 to 2019, planning for the impact of that growth as well as Woodcreek’s future has never been more essential.  Pegasus Planning and Development has been hired to prepare the City of Woodcreek’s first-ever comprehensive plan and update its zoning and ordinances accordingly.  The plan will be strategic and sensible, establishing a framework for how Woodcreek desires to develop and grow in the future, while also preserving its character.  Importantly, the comprehensive plan will be used as a decision-making tool by community leaders to understand the fiscal impacts of their future land-use decisions.

Beginning next month, the project will involve a multi-faceted public engagement process to ensure maximum inclusion and participation from the City’s residents and stakeholders.  Key to the project will be an initial fiscal impact analysis of the current zoning to educate the City and the community on Woodcreek’s current fiscal health. 

“The City of Woodcreek is excited to begin working with Pegasus on developing a Comprehensive Plan to guide our policies and provide continuity and direction to the City Council present and future.  We are encouraged that Pegasus, as our professional City Planner resource, will begin immediately with an outreach program to our citizens in formulating a survey, receiving public input on the vital areas of concern as we plan for economic growth, infrastructure improvements, ordinance and zoning reviews, to name some of the areas of Planning Reviews.  A study of the demographics of the city is a priority in the scope of Pegasus services.  The Pegasus team has been introduced to the community at the Special City Council Meeting on Wed. Oct. 14, 2020 and at the Mayor’s Coffee on Thurs. Oct. 15, 2020” as announced by Mayor Gloria Whitehead.

There will be numerous opportunities for the community to get involved.  Residents, stakeholders, and the business community are encouraged to partake in the online survey which will be launched in January 2021.
