Feb. 18, 2021 - Water Information with Drinking Water Update

Drinking Water Update - The city has now distributed all of the drinking water previously provided by Aqua Texas.  As soon as Aqua Texas provides more drinking water, residents will be notified.

February 18, 2021

The City of Woodcreek expects Aqua Texas to issue a boil water notice as the system regains pressure. When lines experience low pressure over a certain amount of time, a boil water order is issued as a safety precaution.  Water is safe for washing and bathing but could contain bacteria due to the slow flow.  Any water recovered from plumbing systems should be boiled before drinking or cooking with it.

Children, seniors, and persons with weakened immune systems are particularly vulnerable to harmful bacteria, and all customers should follow these directions.

To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and ice making should be boiled and cooled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes.  The water should be brought to a vigorous rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes.

In lieu of boiling, individuals may purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source for drinking water or human consumption purposes.

The City and Aqua have been able to to secure a small number of cases of bottled water.  City staff will begin passing out the water at 10:30 AM today from City Hall at 41 Champions Circle.  Please request only what you absolutely need so that everyone who is in need might have some.  Water will be available until it is not.  Please travel safely as the roads are still icy and are expected to be dangerous until noon.  Please wear masks and practice social distancing as best as possible.

Aqua continues to work with area vendors to have additional supplies of bottled water delivered to Woodcreek.
