Town Hall Meeting - Mar. 22, 2022 - Recap by Mayor Rasco

Town Hall Meeting on the Brookmeadow Overlay - 1 Acre Lot Size Minimums Submitted by Mayor Jeff Rasco

The City of Woodcreek hosted a Town Hall meeting on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at the VFW. We called the meeting to order at 5:30pm with an audience of about 30 citizens, mostly from the Brookmeadow neighborhood. Several members of the Planning and Zoning Commission and the City Council were in attendance.

The Town Hall opened with a presentation created by Councilmember Debra Hines, with assistance from Councilmember Chrys Grummert and Ray Don Tilley. Mayor Rasco gave the presentation, and led the discussion after.

The presentation focused on defining the Brookmeadow area, and how an ordinance requiring division of existing lots into one acre or larger if subdividing would impact the area. There was a brief history of the overlay concept, and a number of questions raised by citizens and passed through P&Z were addressed.

Two different slide decks are available for your review. One is longer and has more explanatory text within the slides. The other is edited down to bullet points, and was the one shown during the Town Hall.

It was great to see the good turnout, and positive attitudes toward the work of your Planning and Zoning Commission and City Council as we try to protect Woodcreek's special charm.

Please plan to attend the public hearings on the overlay proposal - P&Z 3:00 p.m. April 1 and City Council at 5:00 p.m. also on April 1, and both at City Hall, 41 Champions Circle.
