Emergency Preparation

Before last week's winter storm, the city provided emergency preparation information on the News section of the city website and sent an email blast with the information to residents.  The News item may be found under the title Winter Weather Advisory - Feb. 12, 2021.

As we look ahead to future emergencies, a great source of planning information for residents is Hays Informed.  The following link can help residents make a plan for their own home and car - HERE. 

The page includes information for preparing two types of kits.  Type #1 is a Shelter-in-Place kit which can sustain you and your family for 2 weeks.  Type #2 is an Evacuation kit which can sustain you and your family for 3 days.

We're heading into the time of year when our area often sees severe weather, so the time to prepare is now.
