Aqua Tx Notices

Dear Customer,

Since August 2022, the Hays Trinity Groundwater Conservation District (HTGCD) has been in a declared drought based on District Rule 13 & 15. Due to persistent conditions, your area has a 7% chance of drought ending in the next 6 months, as there is still a rainfall deficit of 23 inches. In addition to our primary goal of conservation, Aqua must also comply with the current regulatory requirements by continuing the implementation of measures outlined within our State approved Drought Contingency Plan.

This notification is to remind you of the mandatory STAGE 4 conservation measures in your neighborhood. In September 2023, Aqua updated your watering restrictions to prohibit all Outdoor Water Use, only allowing Indoor Water Use. In addition to No Outdoor Water use, each home has an excessive use limit of 8,500 gallons per month. These measures and those done voluntarily will help preserve your source of drinking water.

Start building water smart habits by:

  1. Visiting your Aqua e-Portal to view consumption. Advance Metering Infrastructure (AMI) now lets you track water use down to the hour!

  1. Opting into additional notifications via your e-Portal to catch any leaks or additional consumption. Please note that non-compliance with the conservation requirements, including excessive use, will result in a flow restrictor on your service line.

  1. Shortening long shower times. The average shower head has a flow rate of 2.5 gallons per minute, meaning a 10-minute shower uses up to 25 gallons of water. Over one month, decreasing shower time down to 7 minutes could save up to 225 gallons! Consider switching to Water Sense shower heads to save more even more gallons.

Our team will continue to monitor conditions and updates from HTGCD regarding your local drought status, and you will be notified if conservation requirements change. For specific questions regarding your requirements or for more water smart suggestions please send us a separate email at AquaTXConservation@aquaamerica.com.

We value your partnership in protecting Earth’s most essential resource.

 Thank you,
