ARBOR DAY AND NATIONAL NIGHT OUT - CYJ - BEGINNING AT 3:00
Woodcreek will hold it's Arbor Day Celebration and National Night Out at Camp Young Judaea, 121 Camp Young Judaea Dr., Woodcreek, TX on Tues. Oct. 4th.
From 3:00-5:00 p.m. We are celebrating Arbor Day, organized and hosted by the Tree Board, as part of our application to become a Tree City USA. There will be a great mixture of fun and education centered around preserving our beautiful trees and other resources. The camp has generously opened their grounds (including the pool) and will be providing delicious food during our very first Woodcreek Arbor Day Event.
From 5:00-7:00 p.m. We will blend right into our annual National Night Out Celebration, during which we will have the opportunity to meet emergency responders, learn about their operations and thank them for their service. This is a fun and educational event, so you will not want to miss it.
We will also have a petting zoo for the kids from 4:00-6:00p.m., exhibits and presentations from Master Naturalists and Gardeners, The Watershed Association, rainwater experts, garden shops, and (of course) arborists and other tree professionals.
In addition to the festivities, a live demonstration will be given to the public on the proper way to plant a tree through a donation of a tree to Camp Young Judaea. An additional donation of a large tree(65 gallon) for a citizen’s yard has been placed into a raffle. Both trees were graciously donated by Simple Leaf Tree Care.
Please plan to come early and stay late!
