Woodcreek is proud to recognize two extraordinary neighbors who embody the very best of our community: Jay and Jennifer Bachman, recipients of the Spirit of Woodcreek Award. Known for their generosity, resilience, and dedication to helping others, the Bachmans have long been pillars of both our town and the greater Texas Hill Country.
Jay serves as a managing chef for Mercy Chefs, a national nonprofit disaster relief organization that provides restaurant-quality meals to victims, volunteers, and first responders during natural disasters. After the devastating floods over the July 4th weekend, Jay and Jennifer worked tirelessly to deliver comfort and nourishment to those impacted—offering not just food, but hope and dignity in a time of crisis.
Beyond their emergency relief efforts, Jay and Jennifer are familiar faces in our day-to-day lives as the owners of Wimberley Café and Marco’s Italian Restaurant on the Square. Their establishments have become local staples—places where friends gather, visitors feel welcome, and community spirit thrives.
In recognition of their selfless service, Mayor Jeff Rasco and the City Council proudly declared August 2025 as "Jay and Jennifer Bachman Month" in Woodcreek. Please join us in congratulating them for their remarkable contributions, both in times of need and every day. Their work reminds us that the heart of Woodcreek beats strongest through the compassion and care of its people.
