Recap Workshop and Special Meeting of City Council
Feb 21st 2023

Workshop covered the following topics:
- Regular workshops will take place the Tuesday following a Regular Meeting to allow for informal discussion of city business and opportunity to review city business together in an open meeting
- Review of the basic structure of The City of Woodcreek’s government
- Overview and discussion of basic communication policies and email procedures
- Discussion on agenda submission practices
- Discussion on a need for an Advisory Bodies communication and procedure policy document
- Review of staff duties and a discussion of outlining responsibilities among staff
- Discussion on the need for a website update
- Discussion of a list of pending business and the desire from staff for Council to rank these items in terms of priorities in an informal council survey on Survey Monkey
- The need for Resolutions on certain policy items
Action taken after the workshop in the Special Meeting:
- Staff was directed with the assistance of Interim City Attorney Roger Gordon to create a communication policy document to be passed by resolution that outlines a communication flow chart between Council and Advisory Bodies, includes the Council Liaison 411, Social Media Policy, states basic policy on interaction with vendors for all of the governing and advisory bodies, and creates a basic advisory body operational policy.
- A proclamation was passed to declare March as “Woodcreek Emergency Preparedness Month.” There will be an Emergency Preparedness Fair on March 25th 2023 from 10AM – 2PM at the VFW Post #6441 on Jacob’s Well. This event is for the whole Wimberley Valley.
